Kodak Carousel Projector, photographed FOI documents
Working from Freedom of Information (FOI) requests I filed, alongside others in the public record concerning hotel detention sites, Disclosure Logs examines both the scope and visual language of redaction. Rather than framing redacted passages as failures of transparency, the work recontextualises these documents as exposing the bureaucratic logics that restrict access to detention spaces and exhibits the traces of these decisions. Projected sequentially through a Kodak Carousel, the images advance automatically, their mechanical rhythm and wash of information echoing the bureaucratic violence that governs these spaces.
